“Photography has been a part of me since a very young age. It is more than just making images. Much of my time out shooting in the streets is intertwined with service to my community. I travel in tandem with my trusty Leica Monochrom, but also with food, clothing, medical kits, narcan and prints of my subjects (to return their generosity for collaborating on a photo). I feel grateful that photography and I found one another. It is more than ‘taking a photo’, it is always about making a connection. I want to showcase subjects, humanity in a way that empowers people to look closer. I often shoot with a very wide angle lens, which means I’m required to be very close to my subjects. I’m grateful for the connections and grateful for the trust I’m granted.”
